How to report an error in a GrowthBrief story, and how we fix it.

Report an error
If you find a mistake in a story, write to desk@growthbrief.example with "Correction" in the subject. Tell us the story's link, what is wrong, and, if you can, a source that shows the right information.
How we handle it
- An editor checks the story against its original source and the evidence you sent.
- If the story is wrong, we correct it as soon as we can, usually the same working day.
- We reply to tell you what we changed, or why we did not.
How a correction appears
- Factual errors (a wrong figure, name, date, or claim) are fixed in the story, and the story's updated time changes.
- Serious errors, where the story's main point was wrong, are fixed and noted in the story so readers who saw the earlier version know what changed.
- A story that cannot stand is removed, and we tell anyone who reported it.
Small fixes to spelling or wording that do not change the meaning are made without a note. So are fixes to a photo or its description.
Search engines and AI answer services may keep showing the earlier version for a while. We tell search engines as soon as a story changes, so they read it again.
Errors in the source
Sometimes the original release itself is wrong or is later corrected by its publisher. When we learn of it, we update our story to match and link to the corrected source.
